Reishin fears that if Shuurei knew his identity, she would hate him as the man who took her father's place as head of the Kou clan.

The reason bandits have been attacking Ensei Rou is revealed; while acting as temporary governor of Brown province, Ensei angered the local nobility by rejecting corruption and bribes. As he has not passed the official examination required to be a high official, Ensei returns his seal of governorship to Ryuuki. Ryuuki passes a law allowing women to take the official examinations.
Ah, Excitement! Grandma's love embosomed in the ring
Godai decides that it's time for Kyoko to finally meet his parents. A bit nervously, he phones home (his parents don't know about Kyoko yet). His grandma helps things along by inviting them to come over (to Nigata Prefecture) right away – tomorrow. They take the train, and then taxi to the restaurant (and home) where Godai's Grandma and parents live.
Later that evening, Grandma loans some money to Godai so that he can afford the wedding; then she gives an engagement ring to Kyoko. With the snow falling outside, all is well. Then there is a knock at the door downstairs. Godai goes to answer, and it's none other than Yotsuya, Akemi and Ichinose! So much for a quiet night…

While reading Alice in Wonderland, Sakura is sucked into the book's fantasy due to another of Eriol's enchantments, this time on a leaf he gave Sakura to use as a bookmark. There she meets the story's characters who have taken on the forms of her friends and family: Eriol is the Cheshire Cat, Yukito is the White Rabbit, Toya is the Mad Hatter, Syaoran is Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee, Tomoyo is Humpty Dumpty, and Kero is the Red Queen.
