Tsukasa gets a new cell phone. Kagami teaches her how to text message. Tsukasa text messages Kagami to the point of sheer annoyance. Konata invites Kagami and Tsukasa over to her house and they forget to do their homework.
Gentle Rain
Akira gets excited about her date with Kondo. However, Kase finds out about her feelings towards Kondo by accident. He said he'll keep it a secret, but only under the condition that she goes on a date with him. Akira goes on the date with Kase reluctantly, and he tells her that things will definitely not work out between her and Kondo. Meanwhile, the day of Akira's date with Kondo finally arrives.

Preparation for the SOS Brigade's short film continues, with character roles revealed—Yuki as an evil alien, Itsuki as an esper, and Mikuru as a battle waitress from the future. Mikuru is forced to dress in an embarrassing waitress costume for her role, while Yuki appears as a witch. On the first day of filming, the Brigade film two commercials to advertise their sponsors with Mikuru dressed in her waitress costume and then her bunny girl costume, much to her embarrassment. They then film several scenes in a park, and Kyon points out that Haruhi did not actually write a script.
