Piccolo and 17 face off. Unfortunately, their fight draws out an unwelcome guest.

Goku finally wakes up after an extended fight with his illness; Feeling the need for more training to take on the androids Goku decides to gather the Saiyans and take them to the lookout to train. In order to convince Chi-chi to allow him to take Gohan along he makes a deal with the devil. After also collecting Vegeta and Trunks Goku heads to the lookout to get permission to train in the hyperbolic time chamber a unique space where time slows down so someone can get a year's worth of training in a day. The only catch is that only two people can go in at a time, Vegeta and Trunks head in first. Meanwhile, the androids having found Goku's house deserted fly over to Kame House only to find Piccolo. Frustrated they demand Goku's location, but Piccolo refuses, and they take their fight over to a series of uninhabited islands.

After Cell Escapes Piccolo and Tien pursue his trial while Krillin and Trunks go back to Dr. Gero's lab ruins to try and find his secret lab and destroy it. Meanwhile, Cell's carnage spreads to Nickytown
