Jinwoo and his party appear to have cleared a low-level dungeon, when a hidden path to an unfamiliar temple is revealed. There they encounter a set of commandments and a group of monsters that cause them absolute despair.

Appearing a third time, Monster No. 9 split into two and toyed with the defense force. Kafka and Kikoru join forces to fight, but they are forced to defend against Monster No. 9, which evolves during the battle, and Kafka fails to transform into Monster No. 8. Kikoru, who is in a difficult situation, remembers a promise he made to his late mother, Shinomiya Hikari. Meanwhile, Narumi is engaged in a fierce battle with the other Monster No. 9.
